Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Jurnal Edukasi Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah

1. Focus and Scope

Jurnal Edukasi Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah publishes high-quality scholarly articles in the field of Islamic elementary education, particularly in:

  • Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) and Elementary School Teacher Education
  • Instructional innovation in MI/Elementary Schools
  • Curriculum and assessment in Islamic elementary education
  • Instructional media and educational technology
  • Management of Islamic elementary education
  • Child psychology and development at the elementary level
  • Integration of Islamic values in classroom instruction

The journal accepts research-based manuscripts (field research or library research) that demonstrate a clear theoretical or practical contribution to the field.

2. Manuscript Originality and Ethical Standards

  • Manuscripts must be original and unpublished.
  • Submissions must not be under consideration by other journals.
  • All manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism using similarity detection software.
  • The acceptable similarity index must comply with the journal’s policy.
  • Authors must avoid fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism.
  • Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

3. Language Policy

  • Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or American English (US).
  • The manuscript must use formal academic language.
  • Indonesian manuscripts must follow the latest Indonesian spelling standards (EYD).
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring linguistic accuracy prior to submission.

4. Manuscript Preparation

General Format

  • Length: 4,000–4,500 words
  • Paper size: A4
  • Font: Garamond
  • Main text: 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing
  • First-line paragraph indentation: 1 cm
  • Abstract: 11 pt, single spacing, no indentation

5. Manuscript Structure

A. Title

  • 12–15 words
  • Informative and reflective of the article content
  • Garamond 14 pt, bold, centered

B. Author Information

  • Full name (without academic titles)
  • Institutional affiliation
  • Country
  • Corresponding author’s email address

C. Abstract (English)

  • 150–200 words
  • Must include: research purpose, problem statement, method, results, and significance
  • Written in a single paragraph
  • No citations

D. Abstract (Indonesian)

  • 150–200 words
  • Must include: research purpose, problem statement, method, results, and significance
  • Single paragraph
  • No citations

E. Keywords

  • 3–5 keywords
  • Separated by commas

F. Introduction

The introduction must:

  • Present the research background
  • Clearly state the research problem
  • Explain the research objectives
  • Identify the research gap
  • Be supported by relevant and recent references

Length: 3–5 paragraphs

G. Research Method

This section must clearly describe:

  • Research type and approach
  • Data sources
  • Data collection techniques
  • Data analysis procedures
  • Instrument validity and reliability (for quantitative research)

The method section must be written concisely and practically rather than theoretically.

H. Results and Discussion

This section must include:

  • Presentation of research findings
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Comparison with previous studies
  • Research limitations
  • Implications and recommendations

Formatting requirements:

  • 1.5 line spacing
  • Use numeric and alphabetic subheadings
  • Tables and figures numbered consecutively
  • Images minimum 300 dpi (JPG format)
  • Avoid phrases such as “as shown in the table below.”

I. Conclusion

  • Written in narrative form
  • Must directly answer the research questions
  • No numbering
  • May include suggestions for future research

J. Citation and References

The journal uses the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th Edition (Full Note – Footnote format).

Requirements:

  • 80% primary sources (peer-reviewed journals or proceedings)
  • 20% secondary sources (books or other scholarly works)
  • Published within the last 10 years
  • Authors must use reference management software (Mendeley or Zotero)

Accepted sources include:

  • Books
  • Peer-reviewed journal articles (print or online)
  • Encyclopedia entries
  • Mass media articles (scholarly relevance required)
  • Academic websites
  • Interviews and observations

5. Tables and Figures

  • Must be embedded within the manuscript
  • Numbered consecutively
  • Titles in Garamond 12 pt
  • Minimum resolution 300 dpi
  • Must directly support research findings

6. Submission Procedure

  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s OJS submission system.
  • Authors must use the official journal template.
  • File format: .doc or .docx (Microsoft Word).

7. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo the following process:

  1. Administrative screening
  2. Double-blind peer review
  3. Revision (if required)
  4. Editorial decision

Possible decisions:

  • Accepted
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Rejected

Authors will be notified in writing regarding the editorial decision. For major revisions, authors are given two weeks for revision. For minor revisions, authors are given one week.
