Aims and Scope

Khazanah: Journal of Islamic Education and Science is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to publishing original and high-quality research that explores the complexities of Islamic education and science within local, national, and global contexts. The journal aims to serve as an academic platform for students, lecturers, scholars, and practitioners to discuss the transformation, challenges, and dynamics of Islamic thought and practice in the contemporary era.

We invite manuscript submissions employing interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches, including but not limited to the following sub-themes:

1. Islamic Education: a. Learning Innovation: Contemporary strategies, methods, and instructional media in Islamic educational institutions (madrasahs, pesantren, and higher education). b. Curriculum: The development of Islamic education curricula that are adaptive to changing times. c. Management & Leadership: Governance of Islamic educational institutions and leadership grounded in Islamic values. d. Islamic Educational Psychology: Analysis of learners’ behavior and development from both Islamic and modern psychological perspectives. e. History & Thought: Studies of key figures, classical texts (turāth), and the historical dynamics of Islamic education.

2. Science: a. Integration of Islamic Science: Epistemological and practical studies on the integration of scientific knowledge with religious values. b. Applied Science & Technology: Research in pure or applied sciences that contributes to the welfare of society (e.g., digital transformation in Islamic education, environmental education based on Islamic values). c. Ethics of Science & Bioethics: Islamic legal (fiqh) perspectives on contemporary issues in science, the environment, and technology.
